Royal Doulton REPOSE - HN2272 - Peggy Davies Design - Unusual Pose

This is a beautiful Doulton piece - familiar yet quite different from the traditional pieces.
Repose features a young lady in pink reclining on a chaise lounge or fainting couch.
She is barefoot and reading a book of poetry.
Note the detail of the words on the page - Lord Byron's "When We Two Parted ..."
There is also some hand-painted detailing in the wood frame of the chaise.
A young lady pining for a lost love.
