Fabulous antique ironstone porcelain manufactured by Elsmore & Foster. When I first noticed this pieces in a PEI antique shop I thought it was a reproductions because it is such remarkable condition. Further investigation proved it to be the real thing! This wheat pattern was registered on November 2, 1859. The diamond mark was used in England from 1842 to 1883 and this piece was produced between 1859 and 1867. Minor imperfections are common as this type of pottery was intended for everyday utilitarian use. Clear glazed, grey white porcelain with wheat and leaf design, rope braid trim, open loop lids, and applied handles.
