Charming group of indoor bird items from the Hartz Mountain Company. These vintage pieces are from the 1930s, 40s, and 50s. The US experienced a "canary craze" in the 30s and 40s and Hartz Mountain seized the opportunity to sell birdseed and pet products through a radio program. Imagine hearing canaries singing along with organ music over your home radio. This led to promotionl records like the one here.
