Child's Felt Hat
Imagine their joy to be wearing this fun piece while touring the zoo! Stenciled on felt featuring a tiger, polar bear, and wolverine with the founding date 1928. Some fading and soiling as well as some holes in the felt where it appears a pin or badge was attached (please refer to photos). Likely from the late 1940s or early 1950s. These hats were also available in blue. A very nice example of a survivor that was worn and loved.

Fiber Board Serving Tray
These trays were produced in Japan in a variety of solid colors and shipped worldwide. Companies would have them printed with images, often as souvenier pieces. This red tray depicts some of the sights you would see at the Detroit Zoo including the penguins, polar bears, and the Rackham Fountain. The body is sturdy fiberboard with plastic trim and vinyl rattan wrap at the handles. Perfect for outdoor patio use as the tray is lightweight and non breakable. Popular in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Tray is in excelllent condition with minimal surface wear from very gentle use.
