Celluloid Angels - German Plastic Holiday Decorations - Angels Playing Musical Instruments

Group of 5 miniature celluloid plastic angels. These cute decorations were produced in 1940s Germany and were available as hanging ornaments, cake toppers, candle holders, or standing figures like the ones in this listing. Marked on base "Made in Germany" and "Reg. 56-67". There were dozens of different designs to choose from, each featuring a gold winged angel in a creamy white gown playing a musical instrument. Intended as Christmas decorations, these charming pieces would be well suited to Valentines Day as well with their bright red bases and cupid like features.
Price is for the group of 5 figures including harp, trumpet, flute, mandolin, and drum.
Round bases are 7/8" in diameter. Figures range in height from 2" tall to 2 1/4" tall.
Condition is very good with only minor surface wear to the hand painted surfaces from occasional handling and gentle use. No cracks, stresses, or repairs.
Celluloid is an ivory colored, hard plastic popular for being lightweight, inexpensive and durable at a time when metal was scace. These pieces were likely produced during or very shortly after WWII as they are marked "Germany" rather than having an "East" or "West" German designation.
